Today I am sharing another styled shoot that I was involved with when I ran my own wedding planning and styling business… I absolutely loved planning, styling and coordinating this wintery wedding shoot; I wanted it to ooze elegance and have plenty of sparkle, and I chose an amazing team to work with, having worked with them all previously.
Bradbourne House is such a brilliant venue to work at, because it lends itself so well to such different styles. Previously, I have done a softer, more romantic shoot here, and we focused on the gardens and orchard. However, for this shoot, we mainly kept to the historic country house and used the stunning building to help create some dramatic shots, both inside and out.
To complement the luxurious theme of the shoot, I opted for a dark purple colour palette, as this is traditionally the colour closely associated with wealth and royalty because it was an expensive dye to make. We were able to showcase a bold purple suit, worn by our groom, Joe, which definitely added a touch of splendour and demonstrated how a groom can have a show-stopping outfit for their wedding. He also wore a pocket chain and used a cane in some shots for a more regal look.
The beautiful make-up and intricate hairstyle on our model, Jessica, made her a truly gorgeous bride, and she wore a variety of wedding dresses, each of which was glamourous in its own, different way.
The rich colour scheme continued through in every aspect of the shoot, from the gorgeous square tiered cake, to the opulent bouquet, and from the delicate stationery to the candlelit décor. The rings provided an instant flash of sparkle, and diamantes on the flowers, the brooches on the chair sashes, and plenty of scatter crystals on the table, along with the glitter-embellished stationery tied everything together perfectly.
Since it was primarily a wintery shoot, we thought it would be amazing if it snowed, but with the great British weather being its’ unpredictable self, we decided to use a snow machine to guarantee some of the white stuff! This meant we were able to get some fantastic snowy images of the couple on the steps outside.
And finally, one of my favourite things about this shoot was the incredible veil, created by Jo from Josephines - it is such a statement piece and really has the ‘wow’ factor! Check it out in the images below.
