How fabulous is this trendy tropical-inspired festival wedding shoot?! Created by Claire Hartley Stylist, who had the initial concept and collated a great team of local suppliers to work together, she says she wanted to take couples, ‘on an epic, fun journey deep into the colourful tropics, to inspire a quirky, relaxed tropical festival vibe. I was keen to keep the styling edgy and so played with my eclectic vision, contrasting styles, colours, textures and patterns.’
Claire chose The Winding House as the setting for her vision; as ‘a former Victorian coal mining building which has been beautifully restored to provide a contemporary and modern space, it was the perfect mix of old and new and a beautiful blank canvas to paint my tropical picture.’
Using vintage parasols for the ceremony backdrop, supported on a backdrop structure provided by Coastal Wedding & Event Hire, Claire created a unique and colourful archway setting for the couple’s nuptials. Grazing Social created an informal grazing runner, which complemented the relaxed, festival feel of the shoot. The table was adorned with colourful decor and tableware, with splashes of gold throughout, courtesy of Boho & Bloom Prop Hire. An exotic setting was created using peacock chairs by Boho & Bloom Prop Hire, and Visual Roars Interiors provided a tropical inspired lounge area. All the signs were beautifully handwritten and decorated by Boards by Jess. The VW Campervan by Retro Rides 4 Brides provided a fun, retro edge to the shoot, whilst Cobi & Coco Cakes incorporated ‘tropical palm patterns [with] fresh and dried flower inspirations and [the] use of gold leaf’ to make a cake with the ‘wow’ factor.
Claire styled the model’s hair, with make-up by Sharon Owens, both of which were ‘relaxed yet edgy’ in keeping with the theme. The bride and groom’s attire by The Bridal Boutique of Jules and The Vintage Suit Hire Company were chosen for their relaxed, boho feel, whilst still maintaining a sense of occasion. The colourful wedding bands were provided by Lawley Fine Jewellers.
There was also an eco-friendly edge to this shoot, as Claire was keen to source ‘green’ suppliers; the stationery by Polkadotdaisy were printed on recycled card, the favours by Seedball are made from recycled card and contain six wildflower seedballs for your guests to plant, the glitter used by Eco Glitter Fun is biodegradable and comes in plastic-free packaging, and dried flowers were used by Bohotanical. The day was captured by the talented Olegs Samsonovs Photography and RKN Aerial Imaging & Wedding Films; you can check out the video after the photos below!
This is truly fantastic inspiration for a bold, colourful and summery wedding with a relaxed, festival feel for everyone to enjoy.
