Small, intimate weddings really make my heart sing, especially during recent times, and I love them even more when you can really see in the photos just how much it means to the happy couple for them to be able to say their ‘I do’s.
Victoria and Robert had a beautiful micro wedding this summer soon after the restrictions on weddings were lifted. They had planned on a Kent garden style wedding, and Nurstead Court was the perfect venue for this, with its grade 1 listed house situated in gorgeous gardens and grounds, deep in the Kent countryside. Victoria wore a stunning beaded dress with a full flowing skirt from Together Forever (and as I was looking through the photos, my 4 year old daughter said that Victoria was a real princess!) whilst Robert looked very dapper in his three piece blue suit from Marks & Spencer. Receptions were still not allowed at this time, so they had a celebratory drink in the gardens with their guests after the ceremony, before having more photos taken by James Grist in the grounds.
When asked about the most memorable part of the day, Victoria says it would be Robert, ‘saying the wrong words when repeating after the celebrant!’ which I suspect may be the reason for the great photo of everyone laughing during the ceremony; you can almost hear the laughter! It’s brilliant. (Go on - have a look below!)
Victoria and Robert were unable to have many personal touches on the day (apart from the gorgeous bouquet by Moody Blooms) due to the restrictions in place, and understandably, they had to make a lot of changes to their original plans, but, as Victoria says, ‘Don't worry about how big or small your wedding is. On the day it doesn't matter; in the end, you're so nervous and excited that the only person you care about is the person you're about to marry.’
Huge congratulations to you both! And thank you for sharing your story with Weddings in Kent!
