How gorgeous are these pictures?! As soon as I saw the photos of Toshimi and Jack’s wedding, I could see the royal links; not only did they choose the picturesque and historical Penshurst Place as the venue for their special day, but Toshimi’s dress was inspired by Princess Kate’s wedding dress and her bouquet was inspired by Princess Beatrice’s flowers. Toshimi says her ‘dream was to have a wedding with a very royal castle-like style’ and I think it’s safe to say they nailed it, particularly with the photos of the two of them in the beautiful grounds at Penshurst (taken by the lovely Penny Young).
Jack proposed to Toshimi by cooking a roast dinner ‘with really romantic red candles and the engagement ring placed on the table’; even the proposal has royal similarities, as it mirrors Prince Harry’s proposal to Meghan.
Looking back on their lockdown wedding, Toshimi recalls that the most memorable part of the day for them was ‘[when the] registrar said our married name for the first time’. That’s when it becomes real as a newly married couple, when you first hear your name said aloud; it’s such a magical moment.
The restrictions placed on weddings due to COVID-19 means that many couples have had to change their plans, and scale back or postpone their original ideas. When planning your wedding, Toshimi recommends being as ‘organized as early as possible’, and, most importantly - ‘enjoy it, don’t get stressed!’
Huge congratulations to the happy couple, and thank you for sharing your incredible day with Weddings in Kent!
