The Oak Barn; Shortlisted for Top Environmental and Sustainability Award!

Huge congratulations to The Oak Barn, Frame Farm for recently being chosen as one of six National Finalists of The Sustainability and Environmental Impact Award at the Rural Business Awards 2020/21!

I have featured The Oak Barn on Weddings in Kent several times (once highlighting it as one of Kent’s ‘green’ venues), and it is, without a doubt, one of my personal favourite wedding venues in Kent. Not only is it gorgeous, eco-friendly and exclusively yours for your wedding, but you can really tell that it has been so lovingly and beautifully restored by its current owners, Deana and Tim. It was a derelict site when they started this project, and over three and a half years, they restored it with their aim to be ‘as ecologically conscious as possible whilst maintaining the farm’s historic character’. Their vision has led to the creation of one of Kent’s most prodigious wedding venues, and they have hosted many events, including weddings, parties and memorial services since the venue’s launch in January 2019. Here are some photos provided by Deana and Tim, that showcase the incredible work that has gone in to making The Oak Barn such a sustainable venue and business:

Here at the Rural Business Awards we remain committed to our vision of showcasing the fantastic work of rural businesses and believe that it has never been more important than now.
