Suzanna & Rowan - an Autumnal Wedding with Stunning Seasonal Tones

Suzanna and Rowan’s intimate wedding earlier this year is the epitome of a gorgeous autumnal wedding; the colours are simply stunning and even the rain couldn’t dampen their day. The colour palette for this wedding is definitely my favourite aspect; the bold splash of the burnt orange wrap against the crisp white of Suzanna’s dress looks incredible, especially in the shots against the big tree. It was also the colour of the bridesmaid’s dress, and perfectly complements the colour of Rowan’s tie, his suit, and the flowers in the bouquet and buttonhole.

After being engaged for two years, they had originally planned on a big wedding with over a hundred guests but they had to scale back their plans because of COVID-19 to have a more intimate day. They had so many personal touches they were able to include, as Suzanna says, ‘many friends and family made things for the day such as the bouquets and also handmade face masks for the guests sewn by friends of my mum’. They also, ‘added little sanitizer bottles with guests names on and tried to incorporate the precautions into part of our day’. They were able to have a small meal at Bowleys after the ceremony, which they said was, ‘exquisite and our guests all absolutely loved the menu’, and their cake was simply decorated but looked amazing and tied in with the autumnal theme beautifully.

Suzanna went on to say that the most memorable part of the day for both of them was, ‘the fact that we were able to get married at all during such a stressful and torrid time. We were just so grateful to have our nearest and dearest with us on our special day, despite everything going on due to the pandemic.’

When asked about advice for future couples, they said, ‘it’s ok if you need to change your plans, sometimes it’s best not to get caught up in the huge party aspect of your wedding. At first we were gutted to have to change plans…every time new guidelines were issued, but when we sat down and talked it through we realised…the most important thing was…that we would end up married at the end of the day.’

Congratulations Suzanna and Rowan, and thank you for sharing your special day with Weddings in Kent!
