I adore this shoot! It is so delicate and pretty. I couldn’t believe my luck when Lou from Bake to the Future and Flo from Florence Berry Photography asked me to style and coordinate this exquisite regency shoot at the beginning of last year (pre-pandemic!). As a huge Jane Austen fan, I had wanted to do a regency-themed shoot for ages and this shoot also incorporated my favourite shade of blue - how could I say no?!
Set at, and initially inspired by, the picturesque Kennington Hall, near Ashford, Lou says, ‘Venue owner Robeira was keen to stay true to the era of the house, while Florence and I wanted to add some modern-day twists to create a beautiful, truly Pinterest-worthy shoot.’ And what a shoot it turned out to be! The incredible handmade soft pink gown, lavish grazing table, extravagant roll-top bath, photo mirrors and gorgeous cameo chocolates (that were delicious!) provided the modern elements that really made this shoot extra special.
The fabulous floral displays added a natural elegance both in the individual glass bottles on the table as well as in the statement display as the ceremony backdrop and around the cake. The cake itself was rather different from the typical cakes produced by Lou, and it just goes to show how talented she is! A beautifully blue, tiered cake that is intricately decorated and is a real show-stopper. The delicate stationery has a very classic feel to it, complementing the regency aspects of the shoot and tying in with the blue colour palette perfectly.
Chives Catering created a fantastic array of dishes for a sit-down meal, as well as a full display of desserts and a grazing table for our bridal couple to sample, showcasing not only their creative versatility, but also how different set-ups can work at a wedding.
You can’t help but fall in love with these truly romantic images, and every Jane Austen ( or Bridgerton!) fan will easily find inspiration of how they could incorporate even the smallest regency detail into their own wedding.
