Kat and Stuart’s wedding is so striking; with those gorgeous red roses, the flashes of red on Stuart’s tie, Kat’s lipstick and nails and, of course, the bridemaid’s dress! They had originally planned on having a big Disney-themed wedding in the spring, but had to re-think their ideas due to the pandemic. However, they still managed to incorporate plenty of subtle Disney details into their intimate day. As Kat says, ‘I wore Disney jewellery, Stuart had a Disney pin on his suit and my sister and I wore Disney inspired bows in our hair. On the bottom of my shoes I also wore sparkly Disney 'I Do' stickers, which were my something blue… Our bouquets were inspired by Beauty and the Beast with the roses, our ring box was personalised, featuring Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse and we had jazz covers of Disney songs as our ceremony music.’ I would absolutely love to hear jazz covers of Disney songs - I think that’s such a good idea, and something different too!
Like many couples who have got married recently, it meant everything to them; as Kat explained, ‘There were so many times in 2020 that we thought our wedding wouldn't happen and it just meant so much to have these 13 people all in one room with us, to celebrate our special day. We will treasure this day forever!’ When asked if they’ve got any advice for future couples, Kat said, ‘Small weddings are still absolutely wonderful! We were only allowed to have 15 guests including ourselves, which was a lot less than our original 100 guest list. With everything going on right now, we just wanted to be officially married and our day was just as special as we'd hoped it'd be. If you're on the fence about the numbers and are able to get married once lockdown is eased, we can't recommend going ahead with your ceremony enough. With all of this time apart from loved ones, if you do choose to go for it, you will be so grateful to have your close family there to witness you say your vows to one another!’
They also wanted to mention their fabulous suppliers; ‘Our Wedding was originally planned for Saturday 11th April 2020: a few weeks into the first national lockdown. We were very fortunate to have flexible suppliers that happily moved everything to December for us with ease. They were always at the end of the phone whenever we needed them throughout 2020 and we couldn't be more thrilled with the final result. Tyler, Cleo, Emma, Rachel, Sam... thank you for everything!’
