It is fairly traditional that newly-married couples go on their honeymoon straight after their wedding, but it is becoming more common for couples to have a mini-moon first, and then go on their honeymoon at a later date. With international travel restrictions still in place due to COVID-19, and likely to remain so for the foreseeable future, I have compiled a list of some of the best places to stay in Kent for a mini-moon after your wedding.
Albion House, Ramsgate
The eighteenth century hotel offers stunning views of the sea and the harbour, and is a great place to stay if you want to explore the Isle of Thanet. Tastefully decorated, with high ceilings, antique furniture and Georgian features, some rooms also have balconies for an added touch of luxury.
Broome Park Hotel, Canterbury

Cathedral Gate Hotel, Canterbury
This fifteenth century building is located in the centre of Canterbury and overlooks the beautiful cathedral. The hotel is full of character with its ‘beamed ceilings, sloping floors and crooked doors’ whilst still offering all the modern facilities you would expect.

Elmley Nature Reserve, The Isle of Sheppey The shepherd’s huts at Elmley National Nature Reserve on the Isle of Sheppey offer a unique experience for a romantic getaway.
