A Real Romance - soft dusky pink bridal inspiration

I fell in love with Bradbourne House as soon as I saw it, and knew I wanted to do a shoot there; it is a beautiful building, in East Malling, and it makes a stunning venue for a wedding or special event.

I wanted to create an elegant, romantic atmosphere, and used dusky pinks and creams throughout to add a delicate softness. The venue is quite grand, so I preferred to have a gentle understated effect to contrast this, which worked perfectly with the colour scheme and dresses.

Bridal Reloved provided two beautiful, and very different dresses; the first had lacy detailing across the top of the low-cut dress, then softly falling straight to the floor, with an incredibly stunning open-back which made this dress a surprise showstopper. The second dress was a strapless, in an a-line style, with a lace overlay and a sparkling belt to add a subtle hint of glamour.

Jo from Josephines created a gorgeous up-do with curling tendrils for the first look, which enabled the beautiful model, Jessica, to show off the back of the dress. Jo then changed the hair to relaxed loose curls to complement the second dress. Sharon at Adornare chose to use soft, smoky eye make-up, with a a gorgeous pink lip that tied in beautifully with the dusky pink hues of the décor.

The bridal bouquet by Emmy Lou Floristry was a sumptuous display of soft pink and cream roses, interspersed with gypsophila and greenery. For the ceremony set-up, delicate cream organza sashes were tied on the chairs, with rose and gypsophila floral attributes lining the aisle. An arrangement of candles were used as the centrepieces on the tables to create an atmospheric, romantic feel, with rosebuds scattered across the tables. The chairs were dressed with elegant dusky pink ruffle hoods, and tied with ivory roses to accentuate the theme.

Chelsea Buns Cake Design created two completely different masterpieces; one being a beautifully traditional tiered cake, and the other being an incredible upside-down hanging cake! The styles of cake show that romance can steer away from tradition and still have the ‘wow’ factor. The stationery was provided by Designed by Brownings, and perfectly complemented the romantic dusky pink theme.

All images were captured by the talented John from Photographed by John Knight, and through my wedding planning business, Caro Events, I was responsible for the concept, planning, styling and décor.
